ORDINANCE NO. O98-1141

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 15 OF THE METROPOLITAN CODE OF LAWS RELATIVE TO A REDUCTION OF RESIDENTIAL WATER RATES AND CHARGES AS MORE FULLY DESCRIBED HEREIN TO BE EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1998.

WHEREAS, the customers of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County are entitled to a safe and dependable drinking water system; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Water and Sewerage Services is responsible for providing drinking water; and

WHEREAS, a rate decrease for water services is possible due to the efficiency of the Department of Water and Sewerage Services in reducing its operational budget; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the decrease apply to water in an effort to have water and sewerage services customers paying for the services they receive.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF A NASHVILLE ND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1: That Metropolitan Code of Laws, Section 15.32.020 and Table 15.32.020 are hereby amended by deleting all of said Section and Table for residential customer class and substituting in lieu thereof, the following:

The rates set out in Table 15.32.020 are hereby established for residential water service, said rates to be effective July 1, 1998, July 1, 1999 and July 1, 2000 as set forth herein:
