ORDINANCE NO. O98-1043

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF CERTAIN LAND TO THE YWCA OF NASHVILLE FROM THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, owns certain real property (Tax Map 80, Parcel 35) of which approximately 3.50 acres, more or less, (shown on Exhibit A) is not necessary for hospital purposes; and

WHEREAS, the YWCA of Nashville proposes to construct and operate a shelter for victims of domestic abuse; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Board of Hospitals have endorsed the transfer of property, on which said shelter is to be constructed, from the Metropolitan Government to the YWCA; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan County Council has gone on record in Resolution No. R97-621 as being in support of the concept of a partnership of the Metropolitan Government and the YWCA in the construction of a shelter for victims of domestic abuse on property now used by Bordeaux Hospital.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1.That the Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized and directed to convey part of Parcel 35 on Tax Map 80 (shown on Exhibit A), to the YWCA of Nashville and is authorized to execute the necessary deed of conveyance and documents pertaining thereto.

SECTION 2.That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
