ORDINANCE NO. O98-1041

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER AND ACCEPTANCE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT TO THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, the United States Government desires to transfer two parcels of land (Map 81-7, Parcels 520 and 521; 1008 and 1006 Buchanan Street, respectively) containing approximately 0.66 acres, more of less, to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, for the benefit of the Metropolitan Police Department; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Police Department has approved the acceptance of said property.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1.The Director of Public Property is hereby authorized to accept title, from the United States Government, to the aforementioned properties (Map 81-7, Parcels 520 and 521; 1008 and 1006 Buchanan Street, respectively) and shown on the map identified as Exhibit "A" and attached hereto and made part of this Ordinance.

SECTION 2.This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, requiring it.
