ORDINANCE NO. O97-1024
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE TO THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY ACTING THROUGH THE METROPOLITAN BOARD OF CODES ADMINISTRATION, TO IMPLEMENT THE URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY GRANT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Agriculture, has awarded Grant No. Z-98-084056-00 in an amount not to exceed Four Thousand Seventy-two dollars ($4,072) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Codes Administration, to implement the urban and community forestry grant assistance program; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant by and between State of Tennessee, Department of Agriculture to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Codes Administration, to implement the urban and community forestry grant assistance program, in an amount not to exceed Four Thousand Seventy-two dollars ($4,072), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

> Section 2. That the sum of Four Thousand Seventy-two dollars ($4,072) be provided for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government's matching share for the program.

Section 3. That any amendments to this grant shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council which receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes.

> Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
