The Minutes of the regular meeting of January 21, 2003 were approved.
The President announced the resignation of Ms. Lorinda Hall as the 2nd School
District representative on the Metropolitan Board of Public Education, which
resignation was accepted by the Council. Official notice was given of the vacancy
on the Board, and the deadline for nominations to be filed with the Metropolitan
Clerk is 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2003. Nominees will be notified
to appear before the Rules-Confirmations-Public Elections Commission and an
election to fill the vacancy will be held by the Council on February 18, 2003.

A resolution providing amendments to the Charter of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, in accordance with Article 19, Section 19.01, and setting forth a brief description of each amendment to be placed on the ballot. (Filling vacancies in office of mayor, vice mayor, district councilmembers, and councilmembers-at-large.) Mr. Wallace moved to defer action indefinitely on the resolution, which motion was seconded and adopted by a voice vote of the Council.
